The objective of this game is to reach the end of the level. There is a large cylinder object that acts as the goal line; approaching it at close-range will reload the level. You assume the avatar of a capsule-character. This character can move and look in any direction you wish. They start with 500 Health and 550 Shield, and so long as you have Shield strength remaining, they cannot take Health damage.
Set between you and this goal are four combat encounters of escalating enemy density. Enemies in this game are also capsule-characters, denoted by both size and color. Once they spawn, they never stop seeking you out.
Clearing these encounters is not required to win, but engagement is encouraged. Every successful level clear will raise the game's difficulty, of which there are five. Enemies gain more health and deal more damage. You receive more Health and Shield. Weapon damage increases and they begin receiving cheats which become vastly more powerful on Difficulty 5. Level clears at Difficulty 5 do not increase difficulty.
Weapons & RNG
There are seven firearm types available to you:
-Pistol
-Submachine Gun
-Rifles (Single - fires once, Full - fires automatic, Semi - fires three times in succession)
-Shotgun
-Machine Gun
There are five rarities each firearm can appear with:
-Usual (Common)
-Sought (Uncommon)
-Coveted (Rare)
-Treasured (Superior)
-Fated (High-End/Exotic)
This game's Core system revolves around a firearm's augmentation through what are known as Cheats. There are two types:
Statistical - Cheats that alter a firearm's performance through changing ammo counts, reload speeds and ranges.
Functional - Cheats that require a condition to be met to receive a particular benefit.
Notes & Hints
-On Difficulty 5, an additional chest will appear with a weapon sporting a dark-blue tinge. This is an Exotic weapon! There is one for each Weapon type, each with a unique Functional Cheat. Play long enough to find all seven.
-In the build folder is a file named 'inventory.txt', which stores all your Weapons in a seven-to-nine-character sequence. When a level reloads on a successful clear or if you die, the game reads this file to return your Weapons. For the curious, you can add your own Weapons if you know what each number of the sequence represents.
-(Note) There is no pause menu. To quit, you have to Alt-F4. You'll have to do this if you get the Player stuck in a way that prevents progress.
Thank you for playing. Have fun!
